XANAX

Xanax was launched in 1981 as a prescription treatment for anxiety and panic disorders and soon became a top selling drug in the USA. However high numbers of 20 to 30 year olds are now buying it illegally on the internet. Bars, planks, and zanies come in a long, thin pill that can be divided into quarters. These cause an intense euphoric ‘high’ followed by feelings of relaxation, severe drowsiness, and even memory loss.

It can be easy to forget that a pill has already been taken, resulting in doubling up an already very high dose. Xanax is a central nervous system depressant and during an overdose breathing can slow to the point that not enough oxygen can reach the brain. This may result in rapid cell death, brain damage, coma, and it can even be fatal.
