FRUIT SALAD

One of my indulgences is a fresh fruit salad with my  breakfast cereal, but, until recently, I was unaware that most of the fruit had travelled thousands of miles to reach me. My ritual starts by slicing a banana from Columbia, then I halve some red grapes from Egypt and cut up an apple from New Zealand. I chop a plum from Chile, then slice a kiwi from Italy, topping them with blueberries from Guatamala. The strawberries are the only UK fruit and are from the New Forest, but the raspberries are from Spain and the mango, if  available, flies in from Burkanafaso in Africa.

I suppose I should be pleased that the water is a local product . But the water company is owned by a consortium of UK investment houses and a German Financial Services Group.  What does all this do to my carbon footprint ?
